Kaikōura Receives $835k Boost for Enhanced Tourism Experiences
The New Zealand Government has announced an investment of $835,000 in Kaikōura to enhance visitor experiences and support future tourism growth.
The funding, provided by the International Visitor Levy, will be used to improve facilities for cruise visitors, upgrade public spaces used by both tourists and locals, and create a more welcoming gateway into the town.
Tourism Minister Louise Upston emphasized Kaikōura's unique appeal as one of New Zealand's most distinctive visitor destinations, attracting people worldwide for its wildlife, natural beauty, and outdoor experiences.
The investment aims to ensure visitors have an exceptional experience from arrival through their stay, supporting the local economy and creating jobs, investment, and growth.
