Kažimír: Another Rate Hike Likely in September

European Central Bank Governing Council member Peter Kažimír expressed his willingness to support another interest rate hike in September. In a blog post on the Slovak central bank's website, he stated that a lot can happen in the weeks leading up to the next monetary policy meeting and emphasized the importance of considering incoming data and geopolitical developments.

Kažimír noted that the ECB did not surprise the markets by raising interest rates now, so it should not surprise them again in September. He added that he would need very convincing news not to advocate another hike in September, implying a strong likelihood of another rate increase.
