Khamenei Unveils Resistance Economy Plan to End Dollar Dominance in Iran
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Mujtaba Khamenei, has outlined a comprehensive strategy to strengthen the country's economic independence. The core of this plan is centered around the concept of a 'Resistance Economy', which aims to shield the Iranian economy from external shocks and foreign pressure.
Khamenei emphasized that building a self-reliant economy isn't just a policy choice, but a vital national necessity. He stressed that economic strength must become the bedrock of the nation's sovereignty, with a focus on creating an internal ecosystem where domestic resources and capabilities are prioritized over foreign imports and dependencies.
The Supreme Leader also emphasized the need to decouple from the US dollar in international transactions, arguing that as long as Iran remains tied to the American currency, it will remain susceptible to Washington's whims. By moving away from the dollar, Iran aims to neutralize the impact of sanctions and other financial tools used by the United States.
Khamenei identified domestic production as the primary solution to economic challenges facing the country. He called for a serious focus on livelihood issues and effective management of market prices, including increasing investment in essential sectors.
