King Charles III $20 Bill Set for Canadian Circulation

The Bank of Canada is introducing a new $20 bill featuring King Charles III. This marks the second banknote in the vertical series, following the $10 note with civil rights pioneer and businessperson Viola Desmond.

Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem described the new note as 'striking, symbolic, and secure.'

The advanced security features on this $20 bill combine images reflecting Canada's beauty and history. According to Macklem, these features aim to evoke national pride and confidence in Canadian bank notes.

The King Charles III $20 vertical banknote is set to be released into circulation in February 2027.
