AMNH President Sean M. Decatur said that the museum had planned to showcase the trophy as part of its exhibit, which highlights the use of precious metals and gems to celebrate achievements. The Larry O'Brien Trophy weighs 30 pounds and is made of sterling silver and gold vermeil.
