Austrian National Bank Governor Martin Kocher told Bloomberg that Europe's economy is showing more momentum than expected, despite recent stagnation fears. Speaking at the Jackson Hole Symposium on Friday, Kocher said the economy has been more resilient and its growth rate is holding steady.

The Eurozone inflation rate remains above 2%, putting pressure on policymakers to defend price stability. According to Kocher, the key issue is how long-lived this inflation will prove to be, and he pointed to threats to price stability.

Euribor futures are currently pricing in too much monetary easing for the rest of the year, which may not happen given the stubborn inflation risk. This suggests that short-term yields may stay higher for longer, making Euribor derivatives a potential area for traders to focus on.
