Korean Won Rises on Soft US Inflation Data
The Korean won made gains against the US dollar on Friday after soft inflation data from the United States reduced expectations of a rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
The won was quoted at 1,418.3 per dollar at 3:30 p.m., up 1.1 won from the close of stock trading the previous day.
The US Producer Price Index rose 4.7 percent on year in July, down from a 5.5 percent increase in June.
