The global markets were mixed on Thursday, with the Kospi in South Korea plummeting by over 4.6% following declines for major tech giants such as SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics.

This downturn was attributed to a combination of profit-taking and risk reduction ahead of Friday's nonfarm payroll report, according to Stephen Innes of SPI Asset Management.

The future for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were up by 0.1% and 0.3%, respectively, despite uncertainty surrounding the US-Iran conflict and its impact on oil prices.

Brent crude held steady at around $79 a barrel, while US benchmark crude was almost unchanged at $75.21 per barrel.
