South Korea's currency, the Korean Won (KRW), has strengthened against the US Dollar (USD) as authorities take measures to curb equity market volatility.

The Bank of Korea (BoK), led by Governor Shin Hyun-sung, is expected to tighten monetary policy further due to mounting inflationary pressures, supporting the KRW.

Regulators have announced additional measures to stabilize the market, including capping portfolio exposure to leveraged Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and raising trading costs.
