Kumamoto Donations Top 4.3 Billion Yen After Major Earthquake

The Kumamoto prefectural government in southwestern Japan has announced that donations from around the world have reached 4.321.3 million yen following a major earthquake on July 28.

The figure, which was as of Wednesday, includes contributions through Japan's 'furusato nozei' tax incentive-backed program.

Kumamoto Governor Takashi Kimura expressed his gratitude for the support and stated that the donations will be used to assist quake victims and promote post-disaster reconstruction.
