Labour Unveils Comprehensive Economic Policy with Targeted Capital Gains Tax
Labour Leader Chris Hipkins has announced his Party's comprehensive new economic policies aiming to return the economy to surplus by 2029-2030. The policy includes a targeted Capital Gains Tax, Wellbeing Reports restored, enhanced public services, and improved job security.
Hipkins stated that his government will establish a New Zealand Future Fund to protect assets, make long-term investments in New Zealand, improve access to capital, and support high-growth businesses, innovation, and infrastructure.
The Labour Party plans to balance the books and return to surplus by 2029-2030. They also aim to reduce net debt to 20% of GDP over time and prioritize investments that support a strong, growing economy.
