Clare Lombardelli, the deputy governor for monetary policy at the Bank of England, has been noticeably absent from public discussions this year. Her last full speech on monetary policy was in May 2025, over a year ago. Lombardelli's low profile has raised questions among BOE watchers about her role in communicating with key stakeholders such as Parliament, the media, markets, and the public. Her responsibilities include providing authoritative and credible communication to these groups, but it appears she is not fulfilling this duty.
