Loonie Drops Below 72 Cents Ahead of BoC Rate Decision
The Canadian dollar has dipped below 72 U.S. cents as trading shifts ahead of the Bank of Canada's interest rate announcement on Wednesday.
Analysts expect the BoC to maintain its current rate of 2.25 per cent, but the Loonie's value is taking a hit in the meantime.
The U.S. Dollar Index has risen by 0.200 of a point to 99.585, while crude oil prices have increased due to rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran.
