Loonie Holds Firm Amid Crude Oil Price Spike
The Canadian dollar maintained its stability on Wednesday morning despite a significant increase in crude oil prices.
Crude oil saw sharp gains, with West Texas Intermediate climbing to US$95.70 per barrel and Brent crude reaching US$100.67/barrel, surpassing the US$100-mark for the first time in about six weeks.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index, however, experienced a decline of 87.17 points, settling at 36,035.88. Meanwhile, gold prices rose by US$34.50 to reach US$4,473.50 per ounce.
