The United States Dollar Index increased 0.27 of a point to reach 99.95.
Crude oil prices saw an uptick, with West Texas Intermediate rising US$2.52 per barrel to US$77.74 and Brent crude oil increasing by US$3.45/barrel to US$82.90.
