Loonie Strengthens Ahead of Trade Deal Deadline
The Canadian dollar has been gaining strength as Canada and the US approach a trade deal deadline. As of Friday morning, the Loonie was trading at $0.7275 or $1=C$1.3746.
This positive outlook on trade talks is contributing to the increase in value of the Canadian dollar. The U.S. Dollar Index has also seen a slight decrease, down 0.08 of a point at 98.705.
Crude oil prices have remained relatively steady, with West Texas Intermediate at $86.95 per barrel and Brent crude at $94.24.
