Loonie Strengthens as Crude Oil Prices Soar
The Canadian dollar continues to rise in value against its US counterpart, driven by higher crude oil prices and increased tensions between the US and Iran.
As of 8:42 am CDT on Thursday morning, the Canadian dollar was trading at US$0.7244 or US$1=C$1.3805, up from Wednesday's close of US$0.7213 or US$1=C$1.3863.
The United States Dollar Index dropped 0.547 of a point to 99.005 amid a global bond selloff.
