Loughborough Law Expert Elected as Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences

Professor Donatella Alessandrini, a law expert at Loughborough University, has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in recognition of her outstanding contribution to social science. The Academy's Fellowship comprises around 1,750 leading social scientists from academia, the public, private and third sectors.

Alessandrini is among 74 leading social scientists elected to the Academy’s Fellowship this autumn. They come from 38 organisations across the UK and internationally, including Canada, China, Hong Kong, Macau, and New Zealand, and represent a broad range of research areas, including global justice, environmental sustainability, digital democracy, mental health and wellbeing, and social inequalities.

Alessandrini's own research focuses on law and political economy, with a particular interest in critical trade and development literature, feminist political economy and political theory. She expressed her delight at being elected a Fellow, stating: ‘I am delighted to have been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and pleased that this recognition reflects the value of collaborative research that connects law, political economy and global justice.'
