Malta's Economy Expands at Robust Pace Despite Slowing Growth
The Central Bank of Malta reported that the country's economy grew by 3.9% in the first quarter of this year, outperforming the euro area average.
This growth is mainly driven by domestic demand, particularly private and government consumption, as well as a strong services sector led by tourism-related industries.
The labour market remained resilient, with employment growing faster than in the euro area, despite a slight increase in unemployment. Inflation also eased, falling to 2.3% in March from 2.5% three months earlier.
