Manga Artist Accuses Former Executive of Embezzling 4.6 Billion Yen
Japanese manga artist Masami Kurumada has made shocking allegations against a former executive and others. The individual, who served as Kurumada's manager and oversaw accounting operations for three companies, is accused of embezzling approximately 4.6 billion yen.
The incident involves Kurumada Production, a copyright management firm headed by Kurumada, along with two other companies. According to the lawsuit filed with Tokyo District Court on the same day as Kurumada's press conference, about 2.886 billion yen in damages are being sought, excluding the 1.8 billion yen that has already been recovered.
Kurumada expressed his disbelief and frustration at the situation during the press conference, stating, 'I couldn't believe it when it came to light. I feel helpless and frustrated knowing that there are people who would betray without hesitation the trust placed in them for their own personal gain.'
