Mann Sees Stronger Growth Amid Labour Market Stability
Bank of England interest rate setter Catherine Mann has expressed optimism about Britain's economic growth. In an interview, she stated that since the central bank's last monetary policy meeting, the economy had shown signs of stronger growth.
Mann said that the labour market had stabilized and inflation was higher than expected. She emphasized the importance of being 'a little bit too high' with interest rates to then correct if necessary.
This view reflects her decision to vote for a 25 basis-point hike in borrowing costs at the last meeting, which is still seen as a minority stance among policymakers.
