Marblegate Snaps Up Busted Covid Loans at Steep Discount
Marblegate Asset Management has acquired approximately $2 billion in distressed Covid-era rescue loans from the Federal Reserve's Main Street Lending Program for a fraction of their original value.
The portfolio of remaining loans, valued at about $516 million, was sold to Marblegate for roughly 25 cents on the dollar, according to data disclosed by the Fed.
This purchase marks another successful deal for Marblegate, which has shown an affinity for distressed government assets. The investment firm is poised to profit from this acquisition as it takes advantage of the significant discount offered by the sale.
