Market Volatility Ahead: Fed Decision, Inflation Data, Oil Prices to Drive Markets
The Indian stock market is expected to remain under pressure in the holiday-shortened week ahead due to various global and domestic factors.
Ajit Mishra, SVP of Research at Religare Broking, said that globally, developments in the US-Iran conflict and movement in Brent crude will remain critical market drivers.
The US Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision on September 15-16 is expected to be a key driver for stock market movement this week. The Fed's interest rate decision could have a significant impact on global bond yields and the dollar, particularly if they adopt a more hawkish tone.
Domestically, inflation data will remain in focus, with August WPI and CPI inflation data to be released soon. Crude oil prices are also expected to be a major concern for India, as any renewed rise could add to inflationary pressures and weigh on the rupee and corporate margins.
