Global equities rebounded on Thursday ahead of the US non-farm payrolls release, with South Korean stocks closing up 1.64% and the yen strengthening.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) in Seoul closed at 6,687.21 points, while the USD/JPY pair traded around 156.28.

Brent crude oil edged higher to approximately $95.65 per barrel, on track for its largest weekly gain since July.

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller's dovish remarks led markets to reprice interest rate hike expectations, reducing the swaps market's probability of a 25-basis-point hike in September from about 70% to roughly 50%.
