Metals Market Sees Mixed Performance as Investors Await Key Inflation Data

The metals market showed mixed performance overnight, with some metals experiencing gains while others saw slight fluctuations in their prices. The SHFE lead price remained flat at 15,860 yuan/mt, while LME aluminum rose by 0.82% and SHFE aluminum gained 0.58%. In contrast, other metals saw minimal changes to their prices.

In the ferrous metals sector, all contracts except for stainless steel experienced gains overnight. Stainless steel fell by 0.07%, but iron ore rose by 0.76%, rebar edged up by 0.5%, and hot-rolled coil also increased by 0.5%. Coking coal and coke saw more significant gains of 1.64% and 1.01%, respectively.

In the precious metals sector, COMEX gold rose by 0.18% overnight, but SHFE silver dropped by 0.42%. The US dollar index rose by 0.01% to 99.82 as investors await the release of key US inflation data on Wednesday.
