Mexico Seeks Trade Deal With US After Canada Talks Fall Apart

Mexico is optimistic about reaching a trade deal with the US after negotiations between the US and Canada collapsed. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed confidence that an agreement can be reached, citing US President Donald Trump's earlier statement on the matter.

Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard will remain in Washington for several days to negotiate lower tariffs on Mexican steel and aluminium, as well as cars. The six-year-old USMCA trade pact includes the US, Mexico, and Canada, which has entered a phase of annual reviews.
