Milliard Unveils Economic Plan for Quebec Liberals
Quebec Liberal Party leader Charles Milliard has unveiled his party's economic plan, just weeks before the provincial election campaign begins. The plan focuses on strengthening Quebec's role within Canada and building new trade partnerships to prepare for changes in the North American economy.
Millard stated that the plan is 'clear and pragmatic' and aims to work towards a stronger Quebec and a stronger Canada. Political analyst Karim Boulos said Milliard generated momentum after winning the Liberal leadership in February, but noted that the PQ has begun to lose steam in recent months.
Boulos added that Milliard's economic message could resonate with voters looking for greater collaboration between Quebec and the rest of Canada. However, he emphasized that Milliard will still need to present a strong platform addressing issues such as health care, education, infrastructure, investment, and technology if he hopes to distinguish himself before the Oct. 5 election.
