Japan's Vice Finance Minister for International Affairs, Atsushi Mimura, warned that joint intervention in currency markets could mark the peak of the US-Japan currency partnership.

Mimura stated this during a recent Reuters report, adding that authorities will continue to cooperate closely with the Bank of Japan (BoJ).

When asked about possible discussions with the BoJ regarding intervention, Mimura remained tight-lipped, saying 'no comment'.

However, he emphasized that the Fima repurchase facility is just one tool for intervention and doesn't imply overall FX intervention constraints.
