Missouri Unemployment Rate Falls to 3.6% in July Amid Job Growth
Missouri's unemployment rate fell to 3.6% in July, down one-tenth of a percentage point from June's revised rate of 3.7%, as the state added 8,100 nonfarm payroll jobs during the month.
The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations reported that private industry accounted for most of the monthly job growth, adding 6,900 positions, while government employment rose by 1,200 jobs entirely within local government.
Total nonfarm payroll employment reached 3,014,900 in July, with goods-producing industries adding 400 jobs over the month and private service-providing industries adding 6,500 jobs.
