Mixed Futures Ahead of PPI Data and ECB Decision
US stock futures were mixed on Thursday as investors awaited key data to test whether recent selloffs in bonds and equities have further to run.
Dow futures rose over 100 points (0.21%) while S&P 500 contracts gained 0.13%, but Nasdaq 100 futures slipped 0.17% after three straight losing sessions.
Producer Price Index (PPI) data, due at 8:30 am ET, may give traders a clearer steer on whether the Federal Reserve can stay on hold next week. Economists expect headline PPI to rise about 0.4% month-on-month, with core PPI up 0.3%.
A hotter print could lift yields and pressure growth shares; a softer reading would challenge that trade. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) follows on Friday.
