Gianni Moscon has been kicked out of the Vuelta a Burgos for 'improper conduct' that 'endangers others.' The Italian rider, who was part of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team, received a 1,000 Swiss franc fine and had 50 UCI ranking points deducted.

Moscon is no stranger to controversy. He has been involved in several high-profile incidents throughout his career, including using racial abuse towards Kévin Reza at the Tour de Romandie in 2017 and punching Élie Gesbert at the Tour de France in 2018.

This latest incident occurred during stage 3 of the Vuelta a Burgos, which was won by Felix Gall. The UCI race jury cited Moscon under article 2.12.007.8.2.1 for 'improper conduct and behavior that is indecent and that endangers others.' Another rider, Mathijs Paasschens from Bahrain Victorious, received a similar sanction but remained in the race.
