Murcian Design Studio Competes to Redesign Euro Banknotes

A Murcian design studio is one step closer to putting its mark on Europe's currency after being selected as a finalist in the European Central Bank (ECB) competition to redesign euro banknotes.

The team at Rubio & del Amo, working alongside Cruz más Cruz, will be competing against nine other finalists from across Europe for the chance to create the next generation of euro notes.

The Murcian team's proposal focuses on European Culture, featuring some of the continent's most influential figures, including composer Ludwig van Beethoven and peace campaigner Bertha von Suttner. The designs are meant to show that European culture is a dynamic force that continues to shape everyday life.
