Naira Appreciates Against Dollar in Nigeria

The Nigerian naira recorded significant appreciation against the US dollar at both official and parallel foreign exchange markets on Friday, July 24, 2026. According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira strengthened further to N1,362.09 per dollar, up from N1,367.76 per dollar recorded the previous day.

This means the Nigerian currency appreciated by N5.67 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis. The continued appreciation of the naira comes as the country's foreign reserves stood at $52.02 billion as of July 23, 2026.

At the black market, the naira also strengthened by N10 to N1,410 per dollar on Friday, up from N1,420, according to a Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.
