Naira Trades at ₦1,360 to Dollar in Official Market, ₦1,428 in Parallel

The Nigerian naira traded at about ₦1,360 to the US dollar in the official market on August 15, 2026. This rate is significantly different from the parallel market where the dollar exchanged for approximately ₦1,428.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official rate stood at ₦1,360.58 per dollar, while dealers in the parallel market bought the dollar at about ₦1,415 and sold it at ₦1,428.

This creates a difference of about ₦67 per dollar between the official and parallel-market selling rates.
