Nasdaq stocks plummeted over 100 points following Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's remarks at Jackson Hole that the inflation fight is far from over. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.52% to 26,402.42 during Friday's session.

The CNN Money Fear and Greed Index showed a decline in overall market sentiment, moving to the 'Neutral' zone on Friday with a reading of 54.4. This marks a decrease from its prior reading of 55.4.

Despite this, some sectors managed to buck the trend, with consumer discretionary and communication services stocks closing higher than the rest of the market.
