National's Economic Legacy Leaves Business Leader Disillusioned

New Zealand manufacturing boss Chris Barrett has expressed disappointment and frustration with the National Party's handling of the economy. As the director of Steelworx, a company he's supported for over 30 years, Barrett says he will not be voting for National in the upcoming election.

Barrett told Ryan Bridge TODAY that he and other business leaders feel let down by the party's inability to fix the economic issues created by Labour. He described the situation as 'dumb and dumber', implying a lack of progress under both parties.

This marks a significant shift for Barrett, who has traditionally voted National his entire life. His decision highlights the growing dissatisfaction among business leaders with the party's economic policies.
