NatWest has secured approval from the US Federal Reserve to establish an office in Stamford, Connecticut. The UK lender aims to rebuild its presence in the US market after being forced to retreat following the financial crisis.

The Fed granted NatWest permission for the representative office on August 20, stating it would 'act as a liaison with current and prospective US customers of the bank.'

NatWest currently has a US-licensed broker dealer in Stamford that allows it to execute trades for institutional clients. The new office will enable it to expand its marketing efforts and build relationships with American companies.
