New Zealand Dollar Hits New Lows Against Thai Baht as Analysts Forecast Continued Weakness

The New Zealand dollar has weakened against the Thai baht over the past month, reaching its lowest point in nearly six months. According to Xe, the current mid-market rate is 19.44 THB per NZD, while Travelex offers a retail rate of 17.54 THB per NZD, a significant gap that can cost travelers hundreds of baht on a single transfer.

The weakness in the kiwi has made timing even more critical for those exchanging New Zealand dollars to Thai baht. Analysts forecast that the NZD will continue to stay weak through Q1 2025, with Trading Economics predicting it to drop to 18.8675 THB by the end of the current quarter.

RBNZ's dovish posture and potential rate cut in February 2025 are also contributing factors to the kiwi's weakness. Furthermore, the impact of Thai political stability on baht strength remains unclear, adding uncertainty to the currency exchange market.
