The non-farm payroll (NFP) reading is expected to be one of the most significant macroeconomic releases this week, according to XTB Research. The data will overshadow corporate results and has the potential to impact interest rates in the US.

NFP is considered a vital indicator for policymakers at the Federal Reserve as it reflects both price stability and maximum employment goals. A weak reading could lead to further dovish revisions regarding interest rate paths in the US.

The past few years have seen economists underestimate NFP numbers, with 35 out of the last 50 months seeing better-than-expected readings. Despite a weak June report of 57k new jobs, the three-month moving average remains at a healthy level of 111k.
