Nifty Slips Below Key Support as Metal Stocks Shine
The Indian market had a lackluster Monday, failing to hold onto gains from the previous two days. The Nifty index slipped below its key support level of 24,200.
The Sensex declined nearly 300 points, while the market breadth weakened and the Vix rose by 4%. Financial and FMCG stocks were among those dragging down the markets.
In contrast, metal stocks shone due to a weakening US dollar. IT stocks also saw gains ahead of NVIDIA's quarterly results.
The Nifty 50 gained included Hindalco, JSW Steel, and HCL Tech, while Bajaj Twins, BEL, and SBIFirst were among the losers.
