Nigeria Seeks Diaspora Capital at Historic Canada Conference
Nigeria is set to host its first-ever Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference (NIDEC) in Toronto, Canada, from August 12 to 15, 2026. The high-powered federal government delegation will be led by President Bola Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The conference is expected to attract diaspora capital, deepen trade ties, and position Nigeria as a preferred investment destination. Senior officials from the Nigerian government, including Governors Babagana Zulum, Charles Soludo, Uba Sani, Caleb Mutfwang, and Dauda Lawal, will attend.
According to NiDCOM Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the event is designed as an outcome-driven investment platform that will connect international investors with 'investment-ready' opportunities across strategic sectors of the Nigerian economy.
