Nvidia Injects $10 Billion into Anthropic's Record-Breaking IPO
Nvidia's co-founder Jensen Huang is poised to inject $10 billion into Anthropic's massive IPO, which could raise as much as $100 billion and value the company at over $2 trillion.
According to Reuters, Nvidia is in talks with Anthropic to invest up to 10 billion US dollars as an 'anchor investor', a large institutional buyer who promises to subscribe before the public roadshow of the IPO. This would give the market reassurance that a major player like Nvidia believes in Anthropic's growth prospects.
Anthropic plans to raise funds to continue developing its Claude model, which requires massive computing power. The company has already secured significant funding from investors including Amazon and Google, both of whom provide computing services to Anthropic. This creates a cycle where AI companies invest heavily in cloud computing services provided by chip giants like Nvidia.
The IPO would be one of the largest in history, surpassing SpaceX's $75 billion raise earlier this year. Anthropic's explosive growth has seen its annualized revenue soar from $90 billion to over $650 billion in just seven months, with expectations that it will reach $1900-2000 billion by 2028.
