NZ Business Confidence Slips Amid Rising Inflation Expectations
New Zealand business confidence fell by two points in August to 54, while expected own activity eased one point to 48. Both indicators remain at high levels.
Reported past activity saw a significant increase of six points to 16, primarily driven by the services sector.
Inflation expectations rose from 3.14% to 3.26%, and more firms anticipate cost increases and price hikes. However, the anticipated size of these cost increases is decreasing.
