NZ Leaders Seek Israel's Secret to Turning Ideas into Prosperity
New Zealand innovation leaders are set to gather in Auckland next week for an annual luncheon focused on turning scientific research into economic growth.
The New Zealand Israel Innovation Hub (NZIIH) event, scheduled for August 26th, will feature former Chief Science Advisor Sir Peter Gluckman as keynote speaker. He will be joined by David Thodey AO, Chancellor of the University of Sydney and Chair of Xero.
Gluckman will deliver a keynote address on how New Zealand can improve the commercialization of research and develop a technology-driven economy. The discussion will examine ways to convert intellectual and scientific capability into economic value.
New Zealand faces a similar challenge to Israel's, which despite limited natural resources, developed one of the world's most concentrated technology ecosystems, attracting international investment and producing companies in cybersecurity, medical technology, and other advanced industries.
