NZ Poll: Trump and Coalition Govt Favored for Inflation Blame
A recent poll of over 1,000 New Zealanders has found that most attribute rising inflation to international events and the coalition Government's economic management, rather than the previous Labour government.
The Horizon Research poll ran from August 5 to 11 and gathered opinions on who was responsible for price increases over the past 12 months. A majority of respondents pointed fingers at Donald Trump and the current coalition Government, with only a minority blaming the Labour Party that preceded them in office.
This finding contradicts the National Party's argument that Labour is responsible for persistent inflation. The party has previously blamed local councils and the Labour government for price rises.
