NZD Continues Slide Amid RBNZ Rate Hike Concerns
The New Zealand dollar has continued its decline after two consecutive sessions of modest losses, trading around $0.585.
This comes as markets reassess the interest-rate outlook from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) following a dovish rate hike last week.
RBNZ policymakers have also hinted at a more cautious approach to further tightening, with some appearing increasingly concerned about economic growth.
The market now implies around an 80% chance that the central bank will leave rates unchanged in October, while a December increase remains largely priced in.
