NZD Crashes Below 0.58, Bears Take Control
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) has plummeted below 0.5800, reaching a near two-month low of 0.5797 against the US Dollar (USD). This significant drop is largely attributed to the NZD's failure to clear a confluence of key Simple Moving Averages (SMAs), which triggered a downward bias in the market.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has also turned bearish, indicating that further downside is expected. The overall US Dollar strength, driven by money markets expecting a rate hike by the Federal Reserve, has shifted momentum in favor of the Greenback.
Should NZD/USD continue to dive below 0.5800, the next support level would be the July 29 low of 0.5761. However, if buyers move in and push NZD/USD above 0.5855, it will expose a potential target at 0.5900.
The NZD's performance against other major currencies has also been underwhelming, with a -0.71% decline against the USD being the largest drop among all listed currencies.
