NZD Falls as Fed Hike Bets Rise, US-Iran Tensions Weigh

The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) has edged lower against the US Dollar as investors bet on a potential interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve. The NZD/USD pair currently trades near the 0.5870 region, down around 0.15% for the day.

This move is partly due to the strong US employment data released last week, which lifted market bets for a Fed interest rate hike at its September meeting amid inflation risks stemming from elevated energy prices.

The tensions between the US and Iran have also contributed to the safe-haven appeal of the US Dollar, putting pressure on the NZD/USD pair. Additionally, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's (RBNZ) dovish tilt in its policy projections has weighed on the Kiwi.
