NZD Falls as Inflation Expectations Drop
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) dropped by approximately 0.4% against the US Dollar on Monday, trading around $0.6150 as of 10:00 AM NZST.
This decline came after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) released its latest inflation expectations survey, showing a drop in two-year inflation expectations to 2.5%, down from 2.8% in the previous quarter.
The softening inflation expectations reduced the likelihood of further aggressive rate hikes by the RBNZ, prompting traders to trim bullish positions on the kiwi.
