NZD Falls as Inflation Expectations Ease to 2.34% in Q3
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) remained subdued as two-year inflation expectations eased in Q3, according to recent data from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ).
Inflation expectations on a two-year horizon cooled to 2.34% in Q3 2026, down from 2.53% recorded in Q2.
This development may have contributed to the NZD/USD pair's decline, which extended its losses for the fourth successive day, trading around 0.5840 during Asian hours on Thursday.
However, analysts suggest that the RBNZ's expected quarter-point rate increase next month could provide support for the NZD.
